I live in Oakland County and, during Covid times, we can check out books from the local libraries by requesting them online. The online Library Network system seems to include access to libraries beyond Oakland County in this region too. I looked up Keenan’s book and there is not one copy in the entire system. As a small action that readers here can take, I suggest those who are able buy a copy or two of the book and donate it to your local library. Let’s get copies in Royal Oak, Baldwin, Huntington Woods, Ferndale libraries, etc. We need more local people furious about this tragic story and the cover up.

As you can see from the attached scan of delivery records, I sent a copy of Marney Keenan’s book, The Snow Killings, Inside the Oakland County Child Killer Investigation, directly from Amazon to Baldwin Public Library in Birmingham, Michigan. It was delivered on July 21, signed for by Brandon. Thanks to a reader who made this suggestion to me via email before the book was released.

I am sure Baldwin will tell you that they are just so, so busy and understaffed during this pandemic and that the books will be in circulation soon. They better be. Meghan is right–if you can afford to do it, send a copy of one or all three of these books to your local Oakland County library. Right now Marney Keenan’s book is on back order, but order one for yourself anyway. I intend to send more copies of these books to Baldwin, just in case they “disappear.”
As another reader observed–let the dialogue begin because the cat is indeed finally out of the bag. Even if you steadfastly maintain the killer is no where mentioned in any of these three books, you will not be able to make the argument that law enforcement in Oakland County and the Michigan State Police did their jobs here. The emerging truth here is worse than anyone really knew. Read and think about what happened here. Protect and Defend will feel like a real farce.
On the upside, there are 36 copies of The Kill Jar in the OC library system, so some are getting through!
For those of us in book clubs, either of these books would be good suggestions for your group to read. Anything to widen the net of those aware of this story and invested in its exposure.
Marney Keenan’s book was sent to me right away, after I explained that I had been evaluating books for 30 years. I reviewed it and gave it max approval. So why hasn’t the publisher blanketed Detroit with it? Don’t they want to sell books? That’s where people will be most interested.
I’m in the process of reading The Snow Killings for the second time. I’ll be in MI later this week (I’m from Berkley and was a classmate of Kristine’s) and I’m bringing the book to drop off at the Berkley library. I’ll order another to replace it for me.

I just sent this message to our Kalamazoo Public Library system requesting copies at the 5 different branches. Please do the same for your local libraries!
All I did was fill out a form with the book’s name and author and this note in the description:
“ Please order one for each branch! This is about the Oakland County Child Killer in Michigan from 1976-1977. I lived through this and the killer lived .5 miles away from me. There was a huge coverup and this exposes it all and we need to get this cold case solved for the 4 families involved and the hundreds of victims from these pedophiles in our state. Thank you so very much! Please! Thank you!”

I find it interesting that the L Brooks Patterson, Wikipedia listing makes no mention of this case at all. Are the Wikipedia people unaware or is someone guarding the content?
The dirty, still-living cops, attorneys and relatives of Busch who sold their souls in this deal and know, participated in or looked the other way when Busch was offed and the case “went away.” The ones who were motivated by greed or fear and backed Patterson up. Those dirty cowards can handle watching Wikipedia or waging a misinformation campaign.
Here’s what Wikipedia/Patterson should contain: Patterson was prosecutor when the infamous and still allegedly unsolved Oakland County child killings occurred in 1976 and 1977. The sister of one victim maintains that Patterson knew of and/or participated in a cover-up when pedophile Christopher Busch was murdered by a cop in November 1978, and that numerous police and police officials knew of and conspired to keep Busch’s involvement in these crimes a secret and to “close” the investigation for good. She further maintains that participants from law enforcement and attorneys who are still living are well aware of this “solution” and have obstructed justice in this case.
