Never a surprise to me, when obscenely wealthy and/or powerful persons attempt to – in some way or another – employ their wealth & influence to cover their own *ss. It’s a grossly unfair distortion of ‘Justice’, when they succeed of course.
Has me pondering, not for the first time and likely not for the last, the relationship between power and perversion. We’re so conditioned to look ‘down’ the social hierarchy for deviants, and not look ‘up,’ never imagining that people who have all the social capital they’ll ever need can be perverse, damaged and dangerous. Doesn’t help that that their social capital protects them, and misdirects us.
