The Detroit PD again using the services of third party lab Othram to identify a homicide victim from 1981.

The Detroit Police Department teamed with Othram to finally identify a 1981 homicide victim as Jerry Tate, who was 33 at the time of his murder. Now that the victim has been identified, there is a greater chance this very cold case can be investigated.

I posted earlier this week about Othram’s announcement of the identification of another homicide victim from Detroit–Robert Booker, Jr., who was murdered in 1998. Kudos to Detroit PD.

Of course you are not going to read about the four related cold case murders of four children in Oakland County in 1976 and 1977. Four cases, four sets of evidence, apparently two agencies keeping their grubby hands on the files and evidence (MSP and Oakland County Sheriff Department (???)). Keeping a lid on and keeping their mouths shut. Just drag it out a little longer, boys, and everyone who knows anything about this case or could be exposed, will be dead. How’s that for a deadline?
