Why didn’t they release it to the public? That poor family has been under suspicion this whole time!!
It really smells like the cops and the first prosecutor picking a theory, backing in to it and controlling the narrative in a way to not only support their theory, but to fool the public in to believing there was no killer loose in their lovely community and to punish the family for speaking out. Then add in these old, high-profile forensic pathologists spouting off about their theories every chance they get and some asshole detectives who still work there to this day–and this is what you get. An epic, evil fail.
Boulder PD seems to be an incredibly and deeply flawed agency, and I have posted links in the past about some of their higher-profile screw ups. These feel like a very disturbing mix of incompetence, racism and police brutality.
I can totally relate to the punitive measures inflicted by these types of agencies on families who dare to ask questions. They don’t get it–transparency helps them at this point. But they usually just double-down and wait for the news cycle to change. Unconscionable. An agency like this never wants to be in a position of apologizing to John Ramsey or his son.
