Not Labor Day this year. It has always been obvious to me that they know who the killer is and where he is.
Cathy,
Your requests are going no where. Let’s move forward as we previously discussed.
Bill
Of course they are going nowhere, Bill, but I want the record to clearly reflect that the complicit narrative playbook, begun in 1976 in this case is still firmly in place. Denial, whitewashing, gaslighting, victim shaming and now the “we’re too busy,” ghosting/silence mode. And old trumpy wasn’t the first person to figure out that you don’t put anything in an email or respond in writing to people like me, to keep from making a record. While the current prosecutor’s office is not making the derogatory statements about Tim’s family as their predecessors, the MSP and even an FBI agent have favored over the years, this may only reflect an understanding that this is gaslighting and victim shaming.
No one wants to be left holding the bag created by L. Brooks Patterson, Richard Thompson, Gary Hawkins and the law enforcement and other prosecutors who were easily convinced to let this case go even though something smelled very rotten. That this was for the best (“trust us”). They don’t want to acknowledge the massive failures and the corruption in this case, now squarely sitting in the MSP/state lab court. LBP and Thompson were the happiest men in Michigan when they shoved this case off onto the state police. No one wants to evaluate what went wrong; how at least four kids were kidnapped, held captive for days, murdered and dumped like garbage on roadsides in perfect Oakland County. They don’t even make an attempt to explain why cases of a similar “vintage” in Michigan have been evaluated by third party labs and the files digitized, and this case will not receive the same scrutiny. Along the way some have discovered relevant information, but it is held tight for a book deal. No one who has touched this case has clean hands.
Yes, I agree–other steps must be taken (but Oakland County judges–really???). Today, right now, is it not plain why Michigan law enforcement resists accounting for these simple, obvious failures as things stand right now in this coldest of cold cases? Why is the case not amenable to further advanced testing? Why the refusal to digitize this case? And why won’t they come clean about why they won’t answer these two questions? Why has no one taken the high road in this case? I believe the answers are obvious, but I will continue to ask questions and make reasonable requests until the rest of the world will be left with the same conclusion I have come to. Law enforcement–quit pretending you give a single fuck about this case.
Not to mention that this was and is an obvious public safety issue. The participants in the OCCK crimes have never been publicly identified. Some surely continued to commit crimes against children, even if murder had to be taken off the table. This was a time of uncontrolled pedophelia (yes, pedophile rings not just random animals) and the waning days of “uncriminalized” child pornography. Such crimes have continued unabated but are now being more actively prosecuted, as I try to demonstrate with posts about the numerous successful prosecutions around the country. A reader commented that I am “obsessed” with the sex angle of these crimes and that’s the reason for all those posts. You are very wrong, sir. It is an acknowledgement of the continued widespread nature of such criminality and it is an acknowledgement to every single person who has been victimized like this and the failure of law enforcement in Michigan (then and now) to even carefully listen to their stories.
The OCCK crimes occurred against this backdrop and were swept under the rug ASAP because this sort of thing never happened north of 8 mile. Even if this reader is right that the killer is a lone freak who was not motivated by sexual attraction to prepubescent kids, it is obvious the sexual nature of these crimes (undeniable, sorry) was part of the reason Oakland County had to ensure talk and panic surrounding these vicious crimes was put to rest quickly. In Oakland County the serial killer(s) are babysitters, don’t you know? He/they feed and bath their victims. The girls “weren’t” sexually abused. Take it easy–it could have been worse. The killer is dead, in jail or institutionalized and repeat this phrase whenever you feel panic.
Cathy, unfortunately you’ve hit a wall. Try and find a good journalist/tv producer out of Michigan to tell the story. Someone who doesn’t give a rat’s behind about keeping names hush hush.
This case will “be solved” when everybody who could be held accountable are dead…
Well then, I wish they’d hurry up. Sometimes the dirtiest, most corrupt hypocrites last the longest.
“The sister is difficult”… YEP! A response by Labor Day? Historical patterns suggest you might be met with some other ridiculous excuse or, all of this will be brushed into the black hole. Or, there could be a catastrophic flood. All while they construct rhetoric to make you sound like an annoyance who doesn’t know how things work. They make my blood boil. I don’t think they’ve seen DIFFICULT yet. Give it to them.
“The sister is difficult”–does that sound like a cop, or what?
