A former North Dakota lawmaker who was one of the most powerful members of the Legislature has signed a plea agreement with federal prosecutors on a charge that he traveled to Europe with the intent of paying for sex with a minor.

It is totally crazy. Pedophile predators never, ever age out. This freak didn’t just “pick up the habit” in his twilight years. He has gotten away with it his entire life and probably used CSAM as soon as he could get his hands on it. Then, because he’s old, prosecutors go easy on him. “Prosecutors will recommend the low end of the sentencing guideline range and move to dismiss Holmberg’s other charge, receipt and attempted receipt of child sexual abuse material, according to the plea agreement. He would have to register as a sex offender under the plea deal.”
This old POS and the prosecutor, apparently, do not understand that use of child sexual abuse material for this man’s gratification is a crime every time he does so. That the CSAM charges are dropped means there is no dent in the production of this material. There is no incentive for these freaks to stop buying it. This former legislator didn’t get busted until late in the game and reaps the negotiation benefit of his age. When are prosecutors and judges going to stop bargaining with these POS? Go to trial. Send the message that your county doesn’t put up with this shit.

By the way, he is a former public school teacher and youth counselor. If the justice system really cared about the issue of child sexual abuse in all of its ugly manifestations, it would be taking a deep dive into his past.
