While the nature of Heron’s (also spelled Herron in some media) criminal sexual conduct charges were not explained in some of the press coverage, the news release from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office makes it pretty plain:
NEWS RELEASE–Pedophile Sentenced
During the investigation into the most recent crimes (2022, 2023, 2024), multiple victims were identified with abuse spanning back to the late 1990s.
Here’s a guy who never stopped. It took over 30 years for his crimes to catch up to him. The Mecosta County Sheriff went after this guy and it is a great reminder that offending pedophiles always have to look over their shoulders. The guy is 67; you know he never thought he was going to be caught. Hopefully there is a civil case for damages in his near future.
Here’s another thing–he looks like your neighbor, right? I wish the reporting would have described his background–what he did for a living, if he volunteered anywhere, what if any church he belonged to. Educate the public. These types are everywhere. And some of them eventually get caught.
