Reading before asking is definitely a fair request. I’m almost done reading the book. That author back up what he/she says with documents!!!
So true. It is such a great read on the history of Oakland County before and after the killings. And then the author proves that the real author of the story is those who left the evidence in the public record.
I like chapter 9, but chapter 10 begins to further describe the corruption in this case. Why does the Oakland County prosecutor have at least 6 chances to file charges against Chris Busch, but does nothing. Why do future people in this position try to cover up all the information. Why do others in Oakland County, and the State level do the same. Even people today continue to do the same.
The book is powerful and incredibly well-documented. I mention Chapter 9 because it is part of the free preview and 10 isn’t. People should read the entire book. I sometimes wonder if things would have been different if Patterson and Thompson were dead when this “leak” happened with Larry Wasser. But maybe the still-living who could have been taken down by exposure of the Busch family and “elite” pedophile rings in Michigan would have stepped in to apply the brakes in their stead. Some of these cops and employees from back in the day could still come clean, but factor in the POSSIBLE Dirty Harry/Magnum Force action (Richard Hojnacki, Chris Flynn, Chris Busch, Carson McDowell, John McKinney) and the odds drop to almost zero. They think they found a work-around that “works” for the families like it did for them. (It doesn’t.)
I did not realize chapter 10 was outside the free preview. The entire book is a great read. I only needed to read the prologue to know it would be informative. But it went well beyond that. And it is bullet-proof due to being so well documented.
However I don’t think it would have mattered who was still alive when Wasser spilled the beans. There are still too many in the society pages, and in law enforcement who will never want to be exposed for whatever association they had with Busch, or whatever part they played.
And I think G-Man would agree with me when I say, we are not in any way saying Chris Busch was the only person involved in these child murders. But once the OCP threw him a bone, gave him a break, shepherded him through the legal system in Michigan with a better deal than Epstein got in Florida, nothing and nobody that would lead back to inquiry into a Busch would be permitted any traction.
