If my book has hurt your feelings or those of anyone in your family, I do sincerely apologize. I called your dad a year ago to ask if he had a problem with my writing it. We discussed the plot and he told me I was on the right track. If he had said, “please don’t write it,” I certainly would not have. I tried to reach out to you through this website even before I contacted him but the note went unanswered. As for profit, I’ve so far earned $14.82 for the book. I spent a little over $3,000 of my own money making it – not to mention a year of my life – so I can assure you that it’s not a question of profit. As I explained to your father, I knew that Dunne’s “A Season in Purgatory” had brought new national attention to an old case and I wanted to attempt to do the same. I’m no Dunne, I know that but I felt that someone should try. I am sorry if I’ve hurt you. It was the last thing I’d have ever wanted.

Ms. Guenther, you did not hurt my feelings. I get all of this. I guess I am expressing frustration over the lack of published nonfiction writing about this case. That’s not your problem. Again, I get it. I’m glad you had the courtesy to contact my Dad.
I’ve always been puzzled as well, Cathy, over the lack of hard-hitting exposure this case still screams for. Under-the-table money and clandestine power are undoubtedly lurking in the background here. Careers and reputations are/were at stake; though I doubt the boys in the club feel threatened any longer. I hope you and your family are doing well. Many of us outsiders are certainly interested in the full truth too.

I have always felt that as many child survivors as can be found in Michigan from the Fox Island (and other locations) should be looking at photo lineups of known child molestors. The result of their individual concurrences compiled would tell law enforcement where to be looking and whose tree needs to be shaken to get a break in this case. It would appear at this point that we know some of the who, but they need to get them all !!!!

Wow Cathy nothing surprises me at this point. Frustrated beyond words. This political bullshit just stuns me.Birmingham was always my home. This cover up is appalling.
