I tried to watch, but I have a hard time with these things. I did read the comments, which confirm that many people in Michigan have never heard of the OCCK case–right in their beautiful little neighborhoods.
The case and the corruption surrounding it need national attention. Exposure of all involved. Why was this case never solved/closed is a much bigger question than who (who all) participated in the crimes.
Two YouTubers outside of Michigan took an interest in these crimes. Authorities in Michigan prefer to look the other way. Too hard. Too messy. Too corrupt. “No comment.”

Since it haunts me to this day, I still reside in Oakland County and talk about OCCK at every opportunity. The faces of my lost peers are never far from my vision, and I’ve been working to corral this CPTSD & ADHD-ridden brain into writing something that would do justice to their memories while championing their cause.
One thought often snags me: what more can I say that hasn’t already been said? What benefit would there be to simply regurgitate the facts as we know them?
But Ms. Broad, reading your post just now has rekindled the embers in my belly and makes me want to move forward. We need to keep talking about your brother, Jill, Mark & Kristine. We need to keep stoking that fire and bringing awareness to this very worth cause for justice.

I take every opportunity to talk about this case. People who have lived in Michigan for some time often remember it–not every detail, but their memories are quickly refreshed. Those who haven’t lived in Michigan, or did but were young when it occurred, are always interested in the details. And everyone (and I mean ‘everyone’!) is shocked that the case has never been solved and infuriated that there continues to be so much ineptitude and deceit by those who are well positioned to solve it.
I’m all for strategizing as to how this case can get more attention. I think we can mobilize a great deal of social support.

I agree Mary, I have been following this case since i was 11 years old and it was happening right around where i lived in Southfield. I was so scared and so were my parents. I have read every book and everything i could get my hands on about this case and I have my own theories about what took place. I wish they had a place where people could discuss the case. I do believe it will be solved someday, it needs much more attention in the media and unfortunately i dont think that is ever going to happen. All we can do is pray. Jeremy

We need the Michigan State Police to take a real interest in solving this case instead of hiding the truth Mary.
Totally agree. I’d be interested in discussing how we can mobilize support and do just that. Their ‘interest’ may only develop in the face of demands that they act.

I just had someone say to me this week, “Whatever happened to that case? It was never solved was it?”
That was followed by, “That’s right, I remember a GM Executive and some island”.
It is in the back of the minds of many local people, but it needs to be brought forward again. In 18 months it will be 50 years since Mark was abducted. Local news will then probably only show a 15 second recap, followed by, it’s a shame this has gone on so long.
