Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries arrested on sex trafficking charges

A federal indictment alleges Mike Jeffries, Matthew Smith, and James Jacobson, operated an “international sex trafficking and prostitution business” from 2008 to 2015.  Jeffries, age 80, was the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch from 1992 to 2014.

A&F is accused of turning a blind eye to Jeffries’ activities and his alleged methods of model recruitment. Let’s see how the “casual superiority” of A&F works in the Big House, Mikey.

VOTE.

Where I live we vote by mail. I dropped my ballot in a drop box near my house last week. Later that day I received a text saying my ballot had been received. The next day I got a text telling me my signature had been approved. The relief I felt was fleeting, but what choice do I really have–to sit it out or or drop the ball?

If you have moved since the last time you voted, or aren’t sure if you are registered to vote, check it out today. https://www.vote.org/am-i-registered-to-vote/ . Some states make it more difficult to vote and even as of today, some states’ voter registration windows are closed or closing soon. If you are not voting early or by mail (make sure you know the mailing deadline and that you have a stamp), make a plan for election day. If you have a big election booklet and lots of propositions on the ballot, do your research. Today. If you take your first look in the voting booth, the way those things are written will usually make you eyes cross and your brain go offline. You could easily vote against your own interests if you simply guess.

I’ve said it before, but never blindly give your vote away just because someone is running unopposed. For example, make sure you aren’t voting to retain a judge like this: https://www.wxyz.com/news/local-news/investigations/im-a-new-racist-local-judge-removed-from-docket-after-court-official-shares-audio-recordings . Or this: https://www.freep.com/story/news/investigations/2024/09/26/kenneth-king-detroit-judge-traffic-court/75310868007/ . (I told you this guy would be described as successfully “retrained” and kept on the bench after the storm died down. Now he’s in traffic court. Good luck to all litigants in his anger-fueled courtroom.)

Just as I would never give my vote away to either of these losers in black robes, I would never vote for an adjudged rapist, racist, misogynist, fascistic, sundowning old man with a cunning and dangerous youngster running mate who also lies with impunity.

We should expect more from people running for public office than any of this. I suspect that literally no one reading this blog (not even you) has the kind of money and assets that would truly qualify for a “bonus” or special treatment under a trump administration. If you are undecided or leaning toward not voting at all, remember how important it is that you take a stand against these low level, undeserving individuals asking for your precious vote.
