Thank you to readers who send me information and ideas regarding the OCCK case, N. Fox Island, their own experiences, investigations into pedophiles (past and present) in Michigan. How else would we have learned that Bloomfield Township cop Richard McNamee, who lived nearby and responded to the Busch suicide in November 1978, was himself a pedophile? Or the extent of the Oakland County pedophile scene in the 70s and 80s? Or the number of survivors who came forward and were, and continue to be, ignored? Or the many misunderstandings and misinterpretations of information contained in the FOIA documents?
Not that any of it was ever followed up on. Ignored.
“The only hope is DNA.” But they won’t conduct the kind of DNA testing that is actually being used to solve ancient cold cases. Ignored.
I read your emails and your texts, but I quite literally cannot respond to all of them. I am not on social media; I do not read the OCCK Facebook page or Reddit. Issues addressed there sometimes make their way to me. I haven’t decided how to address one issue that has come up, but I will simply refer you to two articles and you can read between the lines for now.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera, in 2001 the City of Boulder approved an address change for the home where JonBenet Ramsey was murdered. The basement room where JonBenét’s body was discovered was sealed off by a brick wall covered with plaster.” That sounds very familiar.
In this December 2024 Newsweek article, Joe Rogan claims he nearly bought the property.
Contrary to Rogan’s assertion that they changed the name of the street, it was the address that was changed. The street, 15th Street, remains 15th Street.
My brothers and I considered applying to change the address of our family home on Yorkshire after my dad died. We were now the homeowners and wondered about the sale of a house which, while not a “murder house,” had a lot of sad publicity due to Tim’s abduction from a nearby location. My dad’s second wife ultimately wanted to buy the house so we sold it to her after a year of legal misery. The address remains the same.
Rogan’s discussion with his podcast guest about murder houses and the Ramsey house in particular is very interesting. As is this observation by a forensics real estate appraiser:
“The market perceives anything dealing with children who have been injured, abused, or murdered as the most heinous condition. It has a dramatic effect on property values,” Orell Anderson, a forensics real estate appraiser told Realtor. He also worked on assessing the Colorado property after the murder.
It’s the most heinous condition for a real estate sale. But not for a fucking police investigation in the OCCK case.
