Former ND Sen. Ray Holmberg sentenced to 10 years in prison for sex crime • North Dakota Monitor

A former North Dakota lawmaker was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct. This 81-year-old fuck will hopefully spend the rest of his life in prison.  The defense’s “health and age” argument for no prison was properly rejected by the judge.  All it means in a case like this is that a pedophile had a long run before he was caught, not that he is deserving of home confinement.  We know how that worked for Jeffrey Epstein.

Vigilante Justice–Pedophile Hunting

There is a wild article presented as a “visual investigation” in The New York Times today, “Online ‘Pedophile Hunters’ Are Growing More Violent–and Going Viral.” (“With the rise of loosely moderated social media platforms, a fringe vigilante movement is experiencing a dangerous evolution.”)

If you are a NYT subscriber, you have seen the format of these “visual investigations.” This is how the format is described by The Times:

The Visual Investigations team combines traditional reporting with digital sleuthing and the forensic analysis of visual evidence to find truth, hold the powerful to account and deconstruct important news events. Sign up for our e-mail newsletter.

That “violent entrepreneurs” are using social media really doesn’t come as any big shock. The article focuses on the social media/commercial aspects and the violence employed, more than on why civilians, beginning with To Catch a Predator’s Chris Hansen, would find it so easy to entice pedophiles who continue to respond without fear of arrest or a (filmed) beating.
