The files in the OCCK case should have been digitized when the Michigan State Police “rejuvenated” the child killer task force in 2005. If they were serious about solving, clearing or closing the case, that’s what they would have done. Instead, 20 years later not only have the case files never been digitized, they never will be. This renders them essentially worthless; a sand dune being sifted with a teaspoon.
Is there a database (and I use that word very lightly) of cars and/or license plates? How can tips be cross-referenced? Is there a list of every single person a tip was called in on? Cross-referencing by address/neighborhood? We know there is a “spreadsheet” of the evidence in the case, but we also strongly believe this document does not contain a listing of all of the evidence in the case or where it is currently located. What happened to the evidence seized at the search of the old Busch home in 2008? Did it go the way of the evidence from the Chris Busch “suicide” scene?
FOIA requests have been excessively expensive in this case not only because of the punitive nature of the MSP FOIA department, but also because they can’t very easily find jack shit in the morass of files, boxes, envelopes, tapes and photographs. People are then paying for the cost of this disorganization (a lengthy search) on top of excessive fees for redaction and copying.
I would like to suggest that anyone who is interested file a FOIA request with the state police for any and all documents, reports, photographs and related information concerning the search of 3310 Morningview Terrace, Bloomfield Village on or about October 30, 2008. I plan to do the same.

This home is in Bloomfield Village. Back in the day, the Overseas Division of GM was well-represented in this one-mile square enclave. H. Lee Busch, who retired from that division right around the time Mark Stebbins was abducted, lived at what was then known as 3310 Morningview Terrace. His neighbor and “family friend,” William L. Aitken, lived 3 houses south of the Busch residence at 151 Overhill Road. He was also an executive for the General Motors Overseas Division.
Another Busch neighbor, John W. A. Holmes, Jr., lived at 3135 Morningview Terrace. He was appointed director of personnel of the GM Overseas Operations Division in 1966.
There has never been much online or in the news about H. Lee and his wife Elsie. There certainly wasn’t any press over their son’s passing–just the wee little death notice.
Thank you to readers who have sent me “society page”-type articles from more obscure newspapers over the years about the Busch family social life when they were in town from, for example, Konipstein, Germany. And the article referencing H. Lee as a Boy Scout leader. Another reader found a rare photo of him in a 1955 Rochester, NY, news article when his promotion to comptroller of the GM Overseas Operations Division was announced.
So we know that H. Lee and his family were overseas a great deal during his career at GM post-1955. At times they resided overseas. And at some point, young Chris spent some years at Institut Le Rosey, an exclusive boarding school in Switzerland. https://www.rosey.ch/. Busch did not benefit from the culture at Le Rosey, described as one of “passion for values,” respect for others, and courage. A very expensive place to learn how to ski, I guess.
We know H. Lee had neighbors in Bloomfield Village whom he worked with at GM. Help us piece together where this man lived or spent time in Europe (London, Amsterdam, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany?) and people who knew him or were associated with him. Some people have referred to him over the years as “Harold.”
I have long been convinced that GM Legal was well-aware of H. Lee and his son Christopher back in the day. Most of these attorneys are probably dead, and the rest wouldn’t say a word, falling back on a weak argument of attorney-client privilege, or a stronger argument of guilty conscience. Birmingham Police and Bloomfield Township Police knew who Chris Busch and his daddy were. You bet they did.
H. Lee Busch and Frank Shelden were wealthy, powerful men who were very careful. Shelden, given his documented crimes against children, even more so. (Or maybe not?) I think there is a link somewhere between these two men. And even more likely is a link between Chris Busch and Shelden.

Others may think these connections are not important or that surely “someone” already knows. It might be important. “Someone” probably doesn’t know about the information or how to access it if it was lodged with law enforcement. Thank you again to those who have already provided information–including shocking information that as far as I’m concerned establishes that Chris Busch was filming child sexual abuse material on his 8MM camera and with Polaroids at his family’s Ess Lake cottage, and had been inquiring about killing a child on camera. And thank you another source for information about the continuing crimes committed by Shelden after he fled Michigan in 1976.
Was Chris Busch working with or for Frank Shelden? WTF was up with H. Lee? What about the alleged GM child porn ring that was active during the reign of the OCCK? The answers are out there, even after almost 50 years.
