One of these things is not like the other.

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido announces “Father arraigned on charge of first-degree child abuse”–

https://www.macombgov.org/departments/prosecutors-office/news/father-arraigned-charge-first-degree-child-abuse

Then Local 4 News tells the story. “Macomb County father charged with first-degree child abuse”–

https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2025/08/07/macomb-county-father-charged-with-first-degree-child-abuse

Then Macomb Daily informs us “Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy charged with child abuse”

We don’t need the media to help with the sleight of hand employed by sheriffs and prosecutors when the defendant is a cop, or to get bullied by these agencies. Guy gets his day in court just like anybody else.

MCSO motto: “Determined to keep your trust. Working to keep you safe.” Keep working on that concept.

Thank you Macomb Daily.

Thanks to a sharp-eyed reader.

FOIA in political practice.

The Freedom of Information Act, with it’s noble goal and almost always flawed implementation, has played a critical role in the OCCK case, as I have described many times. The FOIA response in the OCCK case has revealed much more than the narrative of an investigation. As have the minimal FOIA responses in the N. Fox Island child sex ring case, the crazy files in the murder of Birmingham art gallery owner John McKinney in September 1978, and the request for records from the Birmingham PD investigation into suspect John Hastings.

One can’t help from uttering “what the fuck?!” when reading these documents.

The OCCK documents provided were redacted with complete ass-covering in mind, the legal exemptions and exceptions be damned.

Watch this video on Substack to learn details of how a complete political response to document release takes place, in a sex trafficking case that involved minors. Over 1,000 agents going through the Epstein files, to make sure the truth is obscured. Your tax dollars at work.

Survivors and victims always lose when the government gets the white-out ready. There even had to be discussions about protecting the survivors identities from political operatives. Protecting their identities should have been a given.

Watch this important discussion of what is going on in the Epstein case. If you aren’t on Substack, may I suggest you sign on?

Sunshine laws? Hardly. The impulse to ass-cover is almost impossible to overcome. There is never transparency when the suits participate in sex crimes.

Imagine all these survivors have been and are up against. But those that cavorted with Jeffrey Epstein are safe. For now.
