I’ve never believed that the conveniently found hairs/DNA from his former Pontiac Bonneville that were claimed to match Tim King and Mark Stebbins were real. The very idea that those sat in a sample bag or collection jar for decades untested is ridiculous on the face of it. they only got tested when the heat was turned up by the families and public about the OCCK case, and seem to be an attempt to close out the case itself.
I can only conclude the public has endured the gut, wrenching loss of these child victims, And have had Stinging salt throne in our wounds by a clear cover-up from a law-enforcement and government and what is clearly a cover-up. There is no doubt that Sloan was a pedophile and a lowlife worthy of the death penalty. The fact that none of the pedophiles, whether associated with this case or not, have ever talked or try to make a deal. It serves to me as further evidence they had a greater fear of higher up pedophiles in government, or who exercised power with contacts In it.
Agree. That was convenient, wasn’t it, right before Jessica Cooper was campaigning for another stint on the Oakland County payroll?! And remember all of the hoopla in Children of the Snow about the person who left hair on my brother’s body (nasal cavity and groin area) and allegedly on Mark, too? That was 2018/2019. I had to complain and beg like a little bitch to get those hairs tested by a third-party lab. SIX YEARS LATER–oh it’s so very hard to collect evidence and hand it off to a third party lab–guess what? Three of the four hairs are too degraded for further sophisticated analysis. The fourth hair is just a rando hair from Sloan’s Bonneville. Good work, law enforcement! The little evidence shuffle–belying their purported commitment to solving these heinous murders–got the job done. Personally, I lay the blame at the feet of Patterson and Thompson, who in my mind no doubt initiated this evidence hocus pocus. Of course there is always some asshole in law enforcement and the ground level who happily goes along. (Think murder of Gail Webster, Troy, a month before Busch is murdered, October 1978, and the disappearing pipe and obvious mishandling of the evidence. For all we know, the best suspect, an ATF agent, waltzed right into that evidence room and fucked things up himself.)
1976-1978 was a shameful time in Oakland County law enforcement at the prosecutorial and law enforcement levels. Cooper just continue the evil tradition in 2012.

A reader wrote me to ask: “I wonder how Arch’s funeral went ? Who claimed the body ? Did he have family ?”
I have no clue.
Arch Sloan was taken to Sherwood Funeral Home in Grass Lake, MI. This particular funeral home has a contract with the State of Michigan to handle all deaths of inmates in state prisons. Then it is up to Arch’s family to claim his body from this funeral home. If Arch’s family doesn’t claim his body in a timely manner (like 30 days) then he will be taken to a crematory in Hudson, MI, and cremated at the expense of Michigan taxpayers.
It is strange because there were two death certificates initiated on the EDRS system (Electronic Death Registration System) for the State of Michigan. The first one was iniated by Medical Records at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital and the second one was initiated by the Medical Examiner in Jackson County, MI. What this means it was possibly an accidental death, suicide or homicide. It appears the medical examiner is issuing the certificate of death since the hospital doctor only can issue a certificate of death due to natural causes and or the medical examiner Is investigating the death.
I may be clueless, but how do we know he died and wasn’t truly discharged/released?
