Reviewing the Franklin scandal and cover-up and comparing it to the OCCK case and investigation

It will help to review this remarkable footage before I pitch a few theories I have about the people involved in the OCCK crimes and the cover-up that thwarted investigation of them.

In the midst of realizing the police and prosecutor fuckery in my brother’s murder case, I read The Franklin Cover-Up, Child Abuse, Satanism, and Murder in Nebraska (Second edition 1996) by John W. DeCamp and The Franklin Scandal, A Story of Powerbrokers, Child Abuse and Betrayal (2009) by Nick Bryant.  DeCamp dedicates his book “To the children who have been, or will be, abused because of the Franklin cover-up.”  The epigraph in Bryant’s book states:  “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing–attributed to Edmund Burke.”

I wrote about these courageous books, as well as the reporting of Marilyn Wright and M.F. Cribari’s book Portraits in the Snow:  The Oakland County Child Killer . . . Scandals and Small Conspiracies (2011) in 2014:

Much Sickness: North Fox Island, Shelden, Grossman, Starchild, Richards, The Franklin Scandal.

Aside from Marilyn Wright’s equally remarkable reporting on Frank Shelden and associates and N. Fox Island for the Traverse City Record-Eagle in 1977 and 1978, there was never any expose of that sick travesty of justice.  Shelden, Grossman, Starchild and their clients/”johns,” whatever you want to call them, as well as their enablers and protectors, answered for nothing.  Their Ghislaine Maxwell, Gerald Richards, did about two years in prison for crimes that should have sent him away for life.  The little bitch was busted for CSAM after his release.  (Shocker.)

Nothing really shocks me anymore.  The failure to even acknowledge, let alone investigate or connect N. Fox Island and Frank Shelden with the OCCK crimes makes sense when you listen to the John DeCamp interview.  The N. Fox crimes came to light during the reign of the OCCK.  Of course Marilyn Wright’s reporting wasn’t picked up in Southeastern Michigan.  [**See comment/correction below.]  It was, however, acknowledged in the Chicago newspapers.

The DeCamp interview is a reminder of the lengths wealthy sex criminals and dirty prosecutors, judges and law enforcement will go to in order to cover their asses.  It is an especially stark reminder in view of the Epstein/Maxwell cover-up.

Of course Arch Sloan didn’t come clean when he died.  Pedophiles, whether incarcerated or walking freely, are the most cowardly of criminals.  And when they are mere low-level cogs in the wheel of perversion for men with reputations to uphold, even they are subject to death threats that probably extend to their families as well.

Victims of Epstein and Maxwell have received death threats and been subject to lawfare by attorneys like Alan Dershowitz.  Yet many of them have come forward.  Their bravery is a stark contrast to the enablers and protectors of pedophiles who have had a half-century run evading justice in the OCCK case.

An incarcerated old pedo like Arch Sloan would never have redeemed himself on his deathbed and Ted Lamborgine won’t either.  Take heart, corrupters of justice:  your dirty work is still safely buried.

  1. Quick correction: Wright’s work in the TC Record Eagle became syndicated and was licensed to newspapers around the country. Her NF Island/Frank Shelden coverage appeared in newspapers throughout lower Michigan (including Detroit) and even in small weekly papers in the UP. Which of course makes it all the more heinous that more investigation wasn’t done to connect the two cases.

  2. Here’s an important note to the above YouTube Patrick/The Deliberate Stranger podcast episode:

“Conspiracy of Silence, a documentary listed for viewing in TV Guide Magazine was to be aired on the Discovery Channel, on May 3, 1994. This documentary exposed a network of religious leaders and Washington politicians who flew children to Washington D.C. for sex orgies. Many children suffered the indignity of wearing nothing but their underwear and a number displayed on a piece of cardboard hanging from their necks when being auctioned off to foreigners in Las Vegas, Nevada and Toronto, Canada. At the last minute before airing, unknown congressmen threatened the TV Cable industry with restrictive legislation if this documentary was aired. Almost immediately, the rights to the documentary were purchased by unknown persons who had ordered all copies destroyed. A copy of this videotape was furnished anonymously to former Nebraska state senator and attorney John De Camp who made it available to retired FBI Agent Ted L. Gunderson. While the video quality is not top grade, this tape is a blockbuster in what is revealed by the participants involved.”
