Franklin, continued.

No, I didn’t post yesterday about parallels between the OCCK investigation and the Franklin scandal cover-up to raise issues about Satanism or murderous/sexual satanic practices.  Sigh.  The overarching issue is how information is buried, people are threatened, silenced (sometimes killed), and investigations are derailed by any means possible in these kinds of cases when the sex predators in organized rings have the sheen of societal respectability.  A Frank Shelden, for example, as opposed to an Arch Sloan.

I reiterate that nothing close to the examination of the Franklin pedophile ring and cover up took place in the case of N. Fox Island and Frank Shelden and associates.  No one interviewed Marilyn Wright on camera about her work on the N. Fox operation.  No one took a wider view of N. Fox, even as kids started showing up dead on Oakland County roadsides.

One reader raised a some excellent points, however, about satanism:

[T]here are lots of way to cover up a ring—power and money work wonders.  But another, quite clever way, is to link the ring with something fantastical and unprovable—in this case, satanism.  That directed outrage towards the suspected “shadow” participants (elite national political conservatives whom no one knew personally and whose participation could never be proved) and away from named local suspects whose participation could have been proved.  Of course the investigation would fall flat on its face.

The satanic element distracted (how timely that idea is!) from what most likely was a “real” problem, i.e. a local/regional pedophile ring.  It beguiled people into a make-believe world, made the alleged victims and their supporters vulnerable to skepticism and ridicule, eroded trust, and left nothing but cynicism in its wake.  To put it bluntly, the satanic distraction ended up protecting the status quo. That may not have been anyone’s manifest intention, but it was the outcome.

Good old “Bob” came to mind.  Apparently aka “Inspector 71” on Topix/Helen Dagner’s sites (such clever names on those forums, right?), Bob approached attorney Paul Hughes and Debbie Jarvis, Kristine’s mom, with information about the child killer.  Remember him?

What if “Bob” interjected himself, not to exploit the family’s grief, but to provide a distraction from the news made public from 2009-2012 about the investigative failures?  One can argue that he was going to reveal the genesis of a cover-up in the case but that he would only do so if the prosecutor’s office provided one piece of information.  The viewers never learn what the request was, and of course Jessica Cooper’s office would never play ball.  I must say that the law enforcement participants in the phone meeting with Bob–Chief Assistant Oakland County Prosecutor Paul Walton, Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe, former Detroit Police Chief Ike McKinnon–are the last three people I would want advocating on behalf of my brother Tim.   Ever.

Then Bob went dark; took his ball and went home.  Fuck the families and the cops, right Bob?

I again point out that none of the FOIA documents provided to me by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s office after Cooper left office contained a single mention of of this meeting.  I’m sure Cooper’s shredder took care of any notes on that subject.  And the Oakland County Sheriff’s department broke the law a few years ago when they responded to my FOIA request stating they had not a single document in the OCCK case and told me to try the state police.  I’m guessing none of those three men took a single note down anyway.  Those old school fuckers (McCabe and McKinnon) know how it’s done/not done.

Wherever it came from, throw in a little paganism or satanism I guess.  Shuts people’s brains right off.  Mission accomplished whether intended or not.
