Here’s some customer feedback, Col. Gasper, from me and my brothers since my brother Tim can no longer speak for himself. Have your two detectives assigned the OCCK case respond to our email requests of February 14, February 21, March 3 and April 5, 2023, requesting a meeting to discuss where the investigation into our brother’s murder stands. If they are too busy to acknowledge my emails, I doubt it is because they are busy with the OCCK case.
As I explained, we just want a dialogue. There is nothing to do to prepare for the meeting. We have repeatedly offered to work around their schedules.
And here’s another piece of customer feedback: When a cold case homicide gets passed on every few years to a new detective or two, they should contact the victim’s family member(s) to let them know who the contact is and to at least pretend that their family member has not been forgotten in dusty old files. The contrast between the OCCK case and other cold cases being handled by your agency is quite stark. https://abc57.com/news/western-michigan-students-michigan-state-police-partner-to-solve-niles-cold-case; https://wsbt.com/news/local/special-report-how-roxanne-woods-murder-was-solved-35-years-later.
