This is some amazing reporting. While the body count in the Gilgo Beach Killer case is much higher and the years of failure (while appalling) far fewer, you will recognize many chilling, maddening and sad similarities to the OCCK case. As a reader said, it could just as well be Jokeland County.

I’ve been watching various Nassau County city and county meetings council meetings to get an idea of how things work there. Get an ick feeling. Makes me want to look for the minutes of the same meetings across Oakland and Wayne Cos from the 70s and 80s.
