The files in the OCCK case should have been digitized when the Michigan State Police “rejuvenated” the child killer task force in 2005. If they were serious about solving, clearing or closing the case, that’s what they would have done. Instead, 20 years later not only have the case files never been digitized, they never will be. This renders them essentially worthless; a sand dune being sifted with a teaspoon.

Is there a database (and I use that word very lightly) of cars and/or license plates? How can tips be cross-referenced? Is there a list of every single person a tip was called in on? Cross-referencing by address/neighborhood? We know there is a “spreadsheet” of the evidence in the case, but we also strongly believe this document does not contain a listing of all of the evidence in the case or where it is currently located. What happened to the evidence seized at the search of the old Busch home in 2008? Did it go the way of the evidence from the Chris Busch “suicide” scene?

FOIA requests have been excessively expensive in this case not only because of the punitive nature of the MSP FOIA department, but also because they can’t very easily find jack shit in the morass of files, boxes, envelopes, tapes and photographs. People are then paying for the cost of this disorganization (a lengthy search) on top of excessive fees for redaction and copying.

I would like to suggest that anyone who is interested file a FOIA request with the state police for any and all documents, reports, photographs and related information concerning the search of 3310 Morningview Terrace, Bloomfield Village on or about October 30, 2008. I plan to do the same.

This home is in Bloomfield Village. Back in the day, the Overseas Division of GM was well-represented in this one-mile square enclave. H. Lee Busch, who retired from that division right around the time Mark Stebbins was abducted, lived at what was then known as 3310 Morningview Terrace. His neighbor and “family friend,” William L. Aitken, lived 3 houses south of the Busch residence at 151 Overhill Road. He was also an executive for the General Motors Overseas Division.

Another Busch neighbor, John W. A. Holmes, Jr., lived at 3135 Morningview Terrace. He was appointed director of personnel of the GM Overseas Operations Division in 1966.

There has never been much online or in the news about H. Lee and his wife Elsie. There certainly wasn’t any press over their son’s passing–just the wee little death notice.

Thank you to readers who have sent me “society page”-type articles from more obscure newspapers over the years about the Busch family social life when they were in town from, for example, Konipstein, Germany. And the article referencing H. Lee as a Boy Scout leader. Another reader found a rare photo of him in a 1955 Rochester, NY, news article when his promotion to comptroller of the GM Overseas Operations Division was announced.

So we know that H. Lee and his family were overseas a great deal during his career at GM post-1955. At times they resided overseas. And at some point, young Chris spent some years at Institut Le Rosey, an exclusive boarding school in Switzerland. https://www.rosey.ch/. Busch did not benefit from the culture at Le Rosey, described as one of “passion for values,” respect for others, and courage. A very expensive place to learn how to ski, I guess.

We know H. Lee had neighbors in Bloomfield Village whom he worked with at GM. Help us piece together where this man lived or spent time in Europe (London, Amsterdam, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany?) and people who knew him or were associated with him. Some people have referred to him over the years as “Harold.”

I have long been convinced that GM Legal was well-aware of H. Lee and his son Christopher back in the day. Most of these attorneys are probably dead, and the rest wouldn’t say a word, falling back on a weak argument of attorney-client privilege, or a stronger argument of guilty conscience. Birmingham Police and Bloomfield Township Police knew who Chris Busch and his daddy were. You bet they did.

H. Lee Busch and Frank Shelden were wealthy, powerful men who were very careful. Shelden, given his documented crimes against children, even more so. (Or maybe not?) I think there is a link somewhere between these two men. And even more likely is a link between Chris Busch and Shelden.

If you have information that can help establish these links, now is the time to come forward. If we have already spoken or emailed; thank you. Others may think these connections are not important or that surely “someone” already knows. It might be important. “Someone” probably doesn’t know about the information or how to access it if it was lodged with law enforcement. Thank you again to those who have already provided information–including shocking information that as far as I’m concerned establishes that Chris Busch was filming child sexual abuse material on his 8MM camera and with Polaroids at his family’s Ess Lake cottage, and had been inquiring about killing a child on camera. And thank you another source for information about the continuing crimes committed by Shelden after he fled Michigan in 1976.

Was Chris Busch working with or for Frank Shelden? WTF was up with H. Lee? What about the alleged GM child porn ring that was active during the reign of the OCCK? The answers are out there, even after almost 50 years.

Testimony at trial has revealed a “Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde.” A “good husband, good brother and good father who loved reading and opera and who worked long hours.”

The ex-surgeon described himself as having two lives. “A family life, a social life, a professional life, and next to that, the life of a pedo-criminal, a pedophile who thought of nothing else.”

I forgot that there was a photo of a door that was wide open leading into the Busch garage on 11-20-78. There were no photos of the garage itself or the basement of the home, but it is a photo from the lower level of the house. As is always the case, any time I reread these documents the cavalcade of fuckery proceeds to pour out. I have posted about most of this before.

As described below, this door was found to be wide open after police attempted to break the glass on one door and then broke open the front door.

I reread the Bloomfield Township Police Department Incident Reports dated 11-20-78 on the death of Christopher Busch in his parents’ home. One is handwritten and the other typewritten, with additional information. The bottom of all six of these pages is cut off and they do not include the reporting officer’s name. He refers to himself in the report as “writer.” Is the responding officer, Cpl. McNamee, the author of the handwritten report and Officer Uhrig the author of the typewritten report? The top of the handwritten report has “Uhrig” written on it; maybe it was assigned to him instead of McNamee. Without the bottom lines of these pages, we have to guess.

The handwritten report indicates that “the writer” learned from the Busch’s maid that she could not enter the house with her key because “the nite latch was locked from the inside.” “Writer” spoke with the maid and with Chris Busch’s brother Charles, who was present at the scene.

“Writer” describes trying to gain entry by breaking the glass out of the storm door on the west side of the house. Unsuccessful, writer went back with Charles to the front door and forced the front door open, breaking the chain lock from the wall. They (presumably McNamee and Charles) proceeded to Chris’ bedroom and found his rotting corpse.

As described in the handwritten report, “writer” then “made a check of the home inside & out finding all doors & windows had been locked from the inside except the door from the garage it was standing open but the outside overhead doors were closed.” This door was wide open. Nobody thought to check the overhead garage doors or the adjacent garage side door to gain entry before breaking the front door latch. If “writer” was indeed McNamee, he may well have been in that basement before. “All good down here except for that wide open door–weird.”

As I have noted before, the typewritten report indicates that family friend W. Aitken was also present in the home during the investigation.

The report also indicates, as we have long known, that liars/cowards/incompetents John Davis and Ron Pierce of the OCCK Task Force arrived within the hour, seeing as there was a diorama of evidence implicating or attempting to implicate Chris Busch as the OCCK. If these task force members ever reported back to anyone in writing, it certainly wasn’t contained in the MSP’s FOIA responses.

I remind you that Det. Cory Williams with Livonia PD and later the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, attempted on numerous occasions to speak with these two men as part of the investigation into Busch. These fucks actively avoided Det. Williams and one had his wife run defense for him on the phone. You are both complicit in this coverup as far as I’m concerned. Rot in Hell with your pal L. After rereading the incident reports, I had to go looking for the photos from this un-crime scene. I had forgotten there were FOIA hoops to jump through at every turn. First, the initial FOIA documents of photos from the scene were Xeroxed, black and white, and were redacted. My dad then asked for unredacted copies, which were sent in black and white. I believe it was Kristine’s sister who requested color copies of the photos, which when received were in color and more numerous, but back to being redacted.

Here are three pages from a report prepared for our family by a friend who is retired law enforcement. One page observes that there is no evidence of an attempted access via the kitchen/west door as described in the handwritten report. The next two pages make interesting observations about the wide-open door leading outside from the garage.

Maybe W. Aitken was there for moral support for Charles. Maybe he was there to report back to H. Lee. Maybe he was there to help ensure this suicide investigation was cut and dried and did not involve any deep search of the house or the basement. I’d hate to begrudge someone a friend at a time like this, but interesting that Aitken was there during the investigation. “Personal friend of the family.”

If that POS McNamee is the author of the handwritten report, he is the one who “made a check of the house inside & out.” Somehow that is not very reassuring.

***Update: A reader let me know that William Aitken, the “personal friend of the family,” lived three houses south of the Busch residence at 151 Overhill Road.

His obituary mentions he was a member of the GM Senior Men’s Club.  According to the reader, many of the highest level GM executives were in this club. I think he was there to report back to H. Lee, who was in Europe with his wife Elsie when this went down.
