Did I read the article correctly ? While this fellow with face and neck tattoos was out on probation for human trafficking , deputies arrested him for human trafficking while previously in jail ? And an individual named as a previous victim returned to him after he got out of jail for trafficking her and she brought her child along for good measure ?
It’s not very clear from the article, but I think you have it right.
I believe he pleaded no contest to retail fraud (1st degree, Noncapital Felony) on 10/14/2021. Then he violated his probation in 2024. If you read his court record he may have been in jail at various times during 2025 starting in January for this violation, and was using jail tablets and phones.
This particular article was very kind to law enforcement when describing his activities. I’ll post another local article that may explain more.
Excellent, thanks. This article does tip toe around the fact that this guy was doing this WHILE IN THE OC JAIL.
And it may have taken 7 months for OC to figure out that this was happening in their house. Can’t let the newspapers write about that.
Just need to add that he had 3 other Felony convictions in Macomb County in 2017. All were Noncapital felonies.
COULD result in 20 years. Won’t happen with the plea bargains and appeals. Lucky if he gets 8-10 either way with our legal system. And US the taxpayers will be footing the bill😡
Why was this guy allowed use of technology and phone ? He may get probation.
The Macomb Daily provided a bit more information. I’ll leave a link and the story in case it is behind a pay wall.

A Warren man who is alleged to have directed human trafficking activities even when he was incarcerated in the Oakland County Jail was arraigned this week on multiple felonies that could send him to prison for 20 years.
Ryan Ramone Wafford, 33, is charged Aug. 9 with two counts of human trafficking and a third count of prostitution/accepting earnings. Novi 52-1 District Court Magistrate Michael Bosnic ordered Wafford held on $250,000 cash bond.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest was the result of an investigation by the Oakland County Human Trafficking Task Force.
“Even while in custody on unrelated charges, the suspect continued trying to direct and control others,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “Thanks to the persistence of our investigators, we were able to uncover this and rescue individuals from human trafficking.”
Wafford was arrested Friday at his Warren home by members of the OCSO SWAT team, with assistance from the Warren Police Department.
According to the OCSO, Wafford has a lengthy criminal history that includes convictions for delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance, felony retail fraud, and carrying a concealed weapon and was believed to have firearms in his home. One of his alleged victims and her child were in the home when he was arrested.
Investigators discovered Wafford sent dozens of messages that were consistent with communications regarding human trafficking/forced sex labor activities. He sent the messages while he was in custody at the Oakland County Jail for a probation violation and allegedly used jail communications devices such as phones, tablets and video calls to direct these operations.
Thanks, G-Man.
