I have gotten some good feedback and input on the post based on the work of a reader who pulled together and provided analysis on the composite suspect drawings in the OCCK files. Who knows, there could be more–we have only seen a fraction of the documents from this 50-year-old case.

Yup! That’s a decent match. I know others see Hastings in a lot of the sketches. I see a mish mash of generic 1970s brushy haired dudes, a couple of skeezy ones that look like Sloan, but this? This one hits it for me.
The question is when was the sketch created? Who was the witness? Who was the artist? Why was it drawn? This sketch screams Hastings especially based on the photo.
That is a great question. There are no details about numbers 11-15 and 17. Also, the report states that for each of these drawings, their relevance to the case was unknown at that time. These are all good likenesses of some of the main suspects in the case. But nobody was supposed to know about Busch, Greene and Hastings when this report was originally prepared. It was probably put together just after the second task force was established.
I’ll also add one other thing. After reading about how Gary Powell created composite drawing in another crime, a year after the crime was committed and based on a drivers license photo, I find it easy to believe he could be the artist of the Stebbins sketch in the Busch bedroom.
Someone send this to Steve Duncan and ask if it’s a match and any recalls of polygraph he gave in 2009?
