  1. Birmingham Police issued a press release thanking their officers, detectives, and the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for their exceptional work on this case.

“Prosecutors allege Patrick sent one child a sexually explicit video and photograph of himself on October 19, then sent another explicit photograph to the group on October 20. A child who became uncomfortable told a parent, according to the report.”

If only Birmingham Police did the same thing in the 1970’s when Chris Busch was sharing sexually explicit pictures to children in Birmingham. Busch was also exposing himself in Birmingham to other children. Instead, the Birminham Police told victims there was nothing they could do regarding the son of a retired GM executive.

Prosecutor Karen McDonald praised the child who alerted a parent, saying the decision helped protect friends and potential victims. Something that would have never happened in the 1970’s.

    1. Exactly, G-Man. And parents were discouraged from filing charges by B’ham PD in the case of Busch, who was exposing himself all over town (and I’m sure far worse). God, it’s maddening. Why would a kid bother telling their parent(s) when the cops treated these crimes like no big deal, especially if they had to deal with the wrath of the legal department at GM or H. Lee Busch?
