The Silent Witness. DNA.

Watch this 20/20 episode, JonBenet Ramsey:  Race Against Time,  Who is “Unknown Male 1”?, A Diane Sawyer Investigation.  It aired on ABC yesterday and is available on Hulu.

I find it very encouraging.  I find it heartbreaking when compared to the OCCK case.  Remember that the State of Michigan refuses to retest the kids’ clothing in the OCCK case.  It literally takes my breath away–the indefensible actions and failure to update the public in the OCCK case.  And the contrast with what is documented in this 20/20 episode is a kick in the face.

Where is our Police Chief Redfearn (current Boulder PD chief)?  Where is our Detective Dan Jackson (The Yogurt Shop Murders)?

I hope JonBenet’s murder is finally solved very soon.  When you watch the 20/20 show, you will see through the bullshit that surrounded the case from the beginning.  If you continue to cling to the bullshit fed to the public by the Boulder PD and the City of Boulder in the immediate wake of JonBenet’s murder on December 26, 1996, you are hopeless.  As I said in a prior draft that I accidentally published before I was finished, you can fuck off.

I never believed that bullshit, not for a minute.  And not just because my family suffered from a similar, but lesser implosion–having a murdered child, but not the accusations that any of us murdered Tim.  If you believe family members fashioned a garrote to mutilate the body of a child who had been somehow bludgeoned by her 9-year-old brother; to stage a kidnapping an sex crime to cover for her death, maybe you don’t have too much longer to cling to that bullshit.

If you somehow were expert enough to find clues in a frantic 911 call by a mother to a typical shit heel dispatcher, or  a letter supposedly written by the mother (handwriting expert, are we?), or one of the total assholes who wanted to attribute touch DNA of an unknown male on the band of JonBenet’s underwear and on her long john pj pants to a line worker in China who packaged the child’s underwear–you might want to sit down and watch this 20/20 episode.

And if you are one of the cops or prosecutors still clinging like a dog with a bone to “the family did it,” watch the five-part HBO series The Yogurt Shop Murders.

Time and again over the years, cops describe the murder of four girls as being done by more than one man.  Always referring to killers in the plural.  Yeah, guess what?  Years later, when Austin PD doggedly pursued DNA retesting and genetic genealogy the case was solved 34 years later in September 2025, the murders were the work of one lone serial killer who travelled the U.S. raping and killing women and girls as he went.  Similar crimes in states around the country.

Blew through town, killed four girls and kept going.  Here’s the POS, who was long dead by the time his DNA nailed him:

But Austin PD wanted everyone to believe it was multiple men, living right under everyone’s noses.  And by god, they were going to solve it, even if it meant wrongful convictions.  Watch or rewatch that series to understand how this bullshit happens.

I am very hopeful that under new leadership, Boulder PD with the help of third party lab(s) will be able to solve JonBenet’s murder.  And you Ramsey haters can all go straight to Hell.

  1. This was a great show. They hit on all the important historical information.
    – They again discussed the efforts and discoveries of retired homicide detective Lou Smit, and his opinion on why the Ramsey’s were not involved. Also the FBI agent who concurred with him.
    – The fact that Boulder Police failed to search the room where the body was found. This in addition to their lack of experience in such a case, and all their other mistakes.
    – The fact that another girl was attacked weeks later, and the victim belonged to the same dance class as JonBenet. Yet Police did nothing. Nothing to see here.

You can just see the Boulder Police Chief explaining (in textbook manner) how Police will follow any VIABLE lead. Who determines if it is viable? There were many witnesses and clues in OCCK that were viable, but they were just dismissed away. The way he said it, I interpreted him to say they would do nothing. Especially if it was viable.

The discussion on the DNA at the end was very informative. Again, I see the Chief explaining how the correct DNA must go to the correct analysts. They are having discussions. Nothing more. I interpret that to say, “Yes, we are letting the DNA vanish until nothing is left. When that occurs, we will have to dispose of it. So we will hold on to it for another 50 years, until we misplace it.” We have seen this same course of events in the OCCK and the Gail Webster cases with DNA. The Police choose what to test.
