Get this freak arrested for attempted kidnapping in Berkley, MI on 3-22-23

On the 46th anniversary of my 11-year-old brother’s murder, some asshole in Berkley, MI, attempted to abduct a girl who was walking home around 5 p.m. The attempted abduction was near the area of Sunnyknoll and Kipling Avenues in Berkley.

Luckily, the girl fought back, kicked him, and he jumped back into his white predator van.

The girl described the man as as being pale, about 6 feet, 5 inches tall, and having a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood drawn up around his face, a black beanie cap, a black COVID mask, a black The North Face jacket, ripped blue jeans, and tan work boots.

True to form, this animal pulled the same stunt the very next morning in Macomb County, this time following a teenage girl walking to her bus stop. https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2023/03/27/girl-says-van-kept-pulling-up-to-her-at-curb-as-she-walked-to-bus-stop-in-macomb-county/.

She described the man as as being 25-30 years old, with pale skin and glasses, dark brown, shoulder-length hair and wearing a beanie-style hat.

If you have information about this POS, who was driving a white van with no rear windows, a ladder and PVC pipe on top, with some rust on the sides, and a loud exhaust, or live in the vicinity of these incidents and have a security or doorbell camera, call Berkley PD at 248-658-3380 and Chesterfield Township PD at 586-949-2450.

He will keep trying. Somebody turn this freak in.

  1. This is disturbing and makes me so sad. WTF? 45 years later and with all of the tech, we appear to still be on page one?

  2. Well I’m sure that be right on that say maybe 2030. Not to be pessimistic, but the track record for finding missing Children and women is a little sub standard. Or investigating child pedophile’s. Trafficking. But of course if there not found nothing more is reported

  3. Some updated information at the link below. I like that the news crew was interviewing neighbors in all directions of the intersection, and that some neighbors were fixing their Ring cameras for future events.

Also good that some other reports on this have some comments from readers who immediately thought about OCCK again.

Lets just hope authorities catch him before they set up a task force, or hand it over to MSP.

  4. Just saw some updates in this story.

    1) The link below is the FOX News story on the 2 incidents. They seem to imply they are not related.

    2) Chesterfield Police just announced the following:

    PRESS RELEASE UPDATE:
Regarding Suspicious Situation (Lakewood and Edith) 03/23/23
The suspicious male has been identified.

The mother of the teenager involved in the suspicious situation assisted the Chesterfield Police Department with identifying the suspicious male and the van. She captured the van suspected in her daughter’s case on security camera video, driving through her neighborhood in the evening of Mar 29th, 2023.

She reported this to the Chesterfield Township Police Department. Officers utilized the FLOCK license plate monitoring cameras and were able to see a license plate allowing them to develop a name and address for the owner, who also lives in Chesterfield Township.

Patrol Officers and the Detective Bureau made contact with the male and the van involved in this suspicious case. The male was cooperative and remembered driving the van that early morning last Thursday, which also is garbage pickup day for the area. He was slowly driving looking over the many piles of garbage placed at the curb. Coincidentally the teenaged girl was also walking to her bus stop near the same garbage pile the male was looking at for scrap metal. Other area residents confirmed this male often drives the van slowly through the area scrapping.

The Chesterfield Township Detective Bureau has closed this case. The male had no intent on victimizing the teenager. The Chesterfield Township Police Department understands the feelings of the teenager, and commends her on how she handled this incident.

      1. I guess it doesn’t matter that both witnesses gave a similar description of the suspects, in the same type of vehicle. No explanation needed to the residents. Case closed.

No mention also from Chesterfield PD about the Berkley incident. Probably do not care. Probably the son of an important local business man. Nothing to see here. No attempt was made.

Berkley PD is probably still investigating. Residents have contacted them of the Chesterfield incident. No comment as yet from BPD. They like to take their time.
