First, a very timely opinion piece concerning Michigan’s statute of limitations law for criminal sexual conduct. It should be required reading for every single cop and all assistant prosecutors.
Next, a former Michigan ICE agent who pleaded no contest to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with two young relatives between 1989 and 1994, is sentence to 5-15 years in prison. There should be a massive sentence enhancement for law enforcement personnel who plead or are convicted in CSC cases. Same should go for priests, and the recent weak sentences handed down to old pedophile priests in Michigan stand in stark contrast to 5-15 years in prison. Makes one year in jail look like a little rehab retreat.
Interestingly, no photo of this man in any of the media coverage I could find regarding the plea or the sentence.
Finally, check out this 13-year-old who saved his 7-year-old sister from being abducted by a 17-year-old, future member of the sex offender registry:
The older brother kicked this freak’s ass with a slingshot. The freak ultimately claimed he planned on “severely beating” the girl. Sure, pal, that’s all you had planned. What you and any community you live in should plan on is repeat offender status.
