Police departments/agencies as a monolith: It’s one of the parents or the parents protecting the 9-year-old son. No interviews, no comment. Ignore the evidence, sell the narrative. Poison the news feed. Sit back and relax for 28 years. The average citizen moron will eat this slop. Just read the idiotic comments to any YouTube video about this case and try not to lose a few IQ points.

If you haven’t watched Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey, recently added to Netflix, to see how crazy this shit is, you should.

And of course there are other cases where murder victims have been completely dishonored and the public manipulated. Where there is outright public corruption.

I recently reread a three-part series in The Grosse Pointe News (October 15, 22, and 29, 2020) about the death of JoAnn Matouk Romain (“The JoAnn Matouk Romain Mystery; The crazy, but true story of a Grosse Pointe family’s search for answers in a suicide that most likely wasn’t”). Authored by Scott M. Burnstein, it is so well written that it is worth paying to get behind the paywall to read it.

The then Grosse Pointe Farms Police Chief Dan Jensen said he decided JoAnn’s disappearance was a suicide in the first five minutes. Another seasoned, smarmy politician posing as a cop, he helped push the suicide narrative early and often. But here’s the part of the article that hit me hard. One of the Romain family attorneys said:

This [the Romain and the Widlak cases] is tragic in so many ways: The victims are dumped like a bag of trash; nobody cares in the police or prosecutor’s office; silence is power; people intentionally turn blind eyes to grave injustice and loss of human life, and it’s accepted as par for the course. That very fact that we’re here a decade later [now 14 years] and nobody has made an effort to find out anything, it should chill people to the bone, scare them to the core. The good guys are the bad guys now. Everything is upside down, and people are OK with it.

Attorney Solomon Radner

In a little more than two months, it will be 49 years since Mark Stebbins was murdered. Mark Stebbins, Jill Robinson, Kristine Mihelich and Tim King have been betrayed for almost half a century. This blog goes back to January 2013. If you’ve read The Kill Jar by J. Reuben Appelman, The Snow Killings by Marney Keenan, and Guarded by Jackals by Delayed Karma, if you’ve watched Children of the Snow (still airing on Hulu and numerous other streaming outlets), you know how badly the kids in the OCCK were betrayed. You are aware of the public corruption.

Silence is power. Everything is upside down. Law enforcement in these cases is more than OK with it; they love silence. The rest of us should never be OK with it and answers should be demanded in all of these cases.

No more monolith. No more lies.
