  1. It’s no secret that the Chicago PD has a long history of corruption but this podcast about the John Wayne Gacy murders highlights the ineptitude and failures of the CPD and other agencies, and there’s some parallels to the OCCK investigation — ignored tips that could have saved lives for instance. The second season deals with a different case but it will return to the Gacy murders because there’s still some loose ends. Much in the way that the OCP and MSP don’t want the OCCK case solved, the CPD has not and does not want more victims found though it’s very likely there are some. Also, Gacy did contracting work in at least a dozen Michigan counties in the mid-late ‘70’s.

    1. I should add that the host of this extremely well researched podcast is a second generation trial lawyer and the focus is on the investigation (and all the missteps by police) and the victims, not the killer. No one could accuse them of glorifying Gacy.
