I guess this type of offense moves up the timetable for resignation. Compared to, say, allegations in 2018 that this man ignored reports of abuse, and had exchanged sexual messages with an adolescent.  With allegations like that, an “investigation” could be strung along until this man reached the regular bishop retirement age of 75.
