Look who checked out the Oakland County CSC with a minor case file on Chris Busch on March 17, 1977, less than 24 hours after my brother Tim “went missing”–friend of families of murdered children and chief deputy to L. Brooks Patterson, “no deals” Richard Thompson.
This case was filed against Chris Busch by Oakland County on behalf of victim Ken Bowman on or about February 25, 1977. This crime was revealed during questioning of Busch and Greg Greene in Flint the last week of January 1977.
Maybe Thompson had to make sure nothing in that file was going to blow up on him and Brooksie after Busch walked out of the Flint lock up for the low, low price of $1,000 a few weeks before my brother was abducted on March 16, 1977.
That’s what my brother’s life was worth to these men. $1,000. On March 17 maybe Thompson just wanted some light reading material. Or maybe he and his boss were sweating after another kid was abducted after Busch’s get-out-of-jail-almost-free card. Not to worry, Dick. Nobody gave enough of a shit to check on your boy Busch while Tim was held captive for six days.

Yes, R. Keith Stark, H. Lee’s attorney and then Chris Busch’s attorney, bowed out and Jane Burgess entered an appearance and took over the child rapist. She went on to unnecessarily terrorize Ken Bowman on the record.
The free passes, and favoritism that occured in these cases is abhorrent. It is unfathomable that known pedophiles were allowed to cheaply buy their freedom. That police, and prosecutors turned a blind eye, and ignored evidence staring them in the face. Unfortunately their ignorance cost kids their lives. The fact that these individuals continue to hide evidence, and blatantly lie to families should be criminal.

Is Richard Thompson still alive? If do, Has he commented? I thought he went up to flint after Mark Stebbins was found and interviewed Greene (and found out about Busch ) in 1976? Wasn’t Busch arrested at that time – winter /spring 1976? As Loren doable said ‘we thought we had our guy’ in Busch? – then after the freak walks on a supposedly passed lie detector yes, 3 more kids are murdered – THEN he decided to take another look ? Alive. Never talks. Told Paul Walton he remembers none of this. Greene arrested in Flint on January 25, 1977. Busch three days later. Det. Doan and Lt. Simmons from Southfield PD head up to Flint after Det Waldron from Flint PD tells Oakland Co. that Greg Greene has said some very troubling things about Mark Stebbins’ murder. Guess who else joins the party? Richard Thompson. Listens to Greene and then Busch gets arrested in January 28. Thompson DRIVES BACK UP TO FLINT IN A BLIZZARD to check out what Busch has to say. The magical polygraphs are adminstered, Busch’s while DT is there, and guess what??? False alarm. These aren’t our guys.
At this point, Mark, Jill and Kristine have been murdered. Tim is abducted six weeks after Busch walks after the party at Flint PD.
I had the timeline wrong- I thought it was 76 – still – there was some solid detective work from Southfield PD which was wasted and Southfield PD (who had been working the case since 1976) knew in their bones -We HAVE our guy!! They do all the work, collect the evidence (ropes, guns, weed, child porn) only to be let down by the powers that be (Thompson L. Brooks Burgess) who (cut a deal?)decided based on one polygraph??
If I am physically ill at this scenario I cannot imagine what Cathy and her family are feeling.

You raise an interesting point, Anonymous. Unlike today, in 1977 a weed bust would have been a bigger deal that a bust for child porn or even CSC with a minor. No big deal if it’s H. Lee’s son.

Exactly, this is criminal! “Obstruction of Justice” is a crime under the RICO Act. All individuals in leadership in both the Oakland County Crime Family & the MSP Crime Family who are involved in the OCCK cover up need to be indicted by a Grand Jury and prosecuted under the RICO Act.
Check out the register of actions on this case. I will defer to the lawyers here, but a couple of actions are interesting. 7/29/77 Sentenced 2 years probation & $800. Also 1/11/78 Will no longer prosecute while he was still alive.

I only remember this question being asked once, and I don’t remember the answer, what was the name of the officer who signed the bail receipt for Busch after the bail amount was lowered? How likely would it be for a patrol officer/deputy or jail deputy to authorize himself to lower the bail? That officer’s supervisor received a phone call from somebody up the chain of command who also received a phone call. Did that information ever come out?
I believe the only person who can approve is a judge.
